01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Stepping past the noren curtain of Nanahasu in the back alleys of Kanda, you are met with the welcoming energy of a cozy tavern woven seamlessly into a noodle bar. Alongside bowls of chicken soba and tsukemen, the menu features skewered yakitori, well-executed side dishes, and regional sake, accommodating guests looking for a straightforward meal or an evening of drinks finished with ramen.

Clear, Deep Umami in Chicken Soba

The signature shio chicken soba is the natural starting point. Its golden, clear broth delivers concentrated chicken stock, brightened by mitsuba leaves and the citrus aroma of yuzu. Straight thin noodles carry the broth effortlessly, paired with charcoal-singed char siu that deepens every mouthful. Choosing the special topping assortment adds soft-boiled seasoned egg, fragrant charred pork, and tender bamboo shoots to make the bowl feel complete.

Evenings Begun with Skewers and Regional Sake

For those wishing to linger over a drink before noodles, the kitchen offers an enticing bar menu. Skewered chicken cuts like liver, heart, and tender sasami appear beside chilled duck breast in ponzu, horse sashimi, and miso-simmered chicken giblets. Sipping through artisanal sake or beer over small plates before calling for chicken soba is a defining rhythm of the house.

Hearty accompaniments such as charcoal-grilled duck rice and curated raw egg over rice keep combinations varied. Note that payment is cash only, so having bills and coins on hand ensures an easy checkout.
